  • The Scottish band Hipsway scored -- briefly -- in the U.S. with the Top 20 hit "The Honeythief," a catchy pop nugget that, unfortunately, solidified the band's status as a one-hit wonder. "The Honeythief" was an A-1 single, however, combining R&B influences with a European sensibility in the same manner as Living in a Box and Go floodmomorilesisleryguangjewabne.coinfotably, the rest of the material on Hipsway .

  • @Gary Kevorkian did the US 12″ mix for hipsway not the reissued 12″. There are three 12″ mixes for ask The Lord. Falco’s do it again is one of shep pettibone’s best ever mixes. I also was disappointed that b&j were not able to secure the license from WB records but that so80s set was superb, no complaints!

  • Hipsway were a Scottish pop/rock band whose style has been described as 'white soul/ funk'. The band were formed in Glasgow in by ex-Altered Images guitarist Johnny McElhone on bass, and featuring Grahame Skinner (vocals), Pim Jones (guitar) and Harry Travers (drums). They were quickly signed up by Mercury Records and by had released their first album Hipsway.
  • Hipsway, an Album by Hipsway. Released in on Mercury (catalog no. MERH 85; Vinyl LP). Genres: Sophisti-Pop. B4 Set This Day Apart Paul Staveley O'Duffy. co-producer. Hipsway. co-producer. having it back in the 80's and wasn't expecting it to have dated that well, but I was pleasantly surprised what a good CD this is.
  • Predictably, the rest of the material on Hipsway fails to match the quality of its sole hit tune. Hipsway: Smoke and Dreams. Hipsway massive! We love you and wouldn’t be around now without you. Stay tuned for a big announcement very soon. This album has an average beat per minute of BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: / BPM).
  • Hipsway's self titled debut album was just about perfect. Blue-eyed soul which managed to swing like a sledgehammer, and entranced me as a teenager. This is a lovingly collected Deluxe version - as well as the original album you get several remixes and some rare and unreleased material/5(55).
